SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA, October 27, 1999 - David Spade, star of the hit comedy Just Shoot Me, and Cindy Margolis, the most downloaded woman on the Internet, are scheduled to host Pixelon.com's iBash '99 on October 29th at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. iBash '99 celebrates the launch of Pixelon.com, the first full-screen, full-motion, TV-quality Internet broadcast network. The event unites The Who, KISS, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Tony Bennett, LeAnn Rimes, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, The Offspring and Chely Wright in what is believed to be the largest event ever held to launch an Internet company.
iBash '99 will be broadcast live from Las Vegas. Viewers can log on to http://www.pixelon.com to view the event at no charge. Far different from a standard Webcast, Pixelon.com will offer a unique personalized online experience, with each performance broadcast from multiple cameras so viewers have a choice of camera angles from which to view the event. In addition, performances and backstage footage will be archived and available on the day following the event. A viewer only needs to download the Pixelon Player from Pixelon.com in order to view the broadcast.
Pixelon.com will feature a broad variety of programming using its full-screen, TV-quality video and audio streaming technology, including film and television specials, music videos, news, sports, live events and more. Pixelon.com will launch its network with iBash '99 on Friday, October 29th. Tickets are available and on sale to the public for two shows - The Hottest Divas of Country and the reunion of The Who. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit several youth charities in Las Vegas and Orange County, California. Tickets, priced at $10 per show, are currently on sale at the MGM Grand Garden box office and all local Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations.
