LIVE365 Achieves Record Growth
6.144 MIllion Listening Hours for August 2001
FOSTER CITY, CA (Sept 05, 2001) -- Live365 (www.live365.com), the world’s largest Internet broadcasting community, announced record-breaking listening time for the month of August with 6.144m hours. In fact, Live365’s listening audience has increased dramatically every month since inception and is up over 300% since the 1.9 Million hours streamed in December 2000. Live365’s time spent per user is much higher than any other Internet radio service. Nielsen NetRatings reports average time spent per Live365 visitor to be 1:28:41, which is nearly six times the average of 15:09 for Radio/Audio sites.
Live365 reports strong listener hour growth per month: May # 4.6m; June # 5.0m; July # 5.4m; August # 6.14m compared # 1.9m at the beginning of the year. During that same period, Live365 also introduced audio advertisements to the service. “The radio business was built on audio advertisements but delivering those same ads using the Internet allows for much more accurate targeting and tracking,” said Paul Adams, Vice President of Advertising Sales.
Live365 offers the ability for anyone to be able to build his or her own Internet radio station. Live365 also has a series of professional services for the Internet broadcasting of terrestrial radio stations as well as commercial organizations. According to Ron Denman, Vice President New Business Sales, “We are experiencing steady 15-20% growth each month in our recurring revenue base from groups and organizations and governments who are discovering that a voice on the Internet can help them build membership and create greater demand for their products or services.”
Live365 will be showcasing its professional services at the NAB XStream Conference in New Orleans, LA (Sept 5-7, 01) at booth #1560.
