FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NUMBER OF LIVE365 BROADCASTS
SURPASSES TOTAL NUMBER OF TRADITIONAL
U.S. RADIO STATIONS

FOSTER CITY, CA (August 10, 2000) – Live365.com, the world’s largest Internet broadcasting community, today announced that its total number of simultaneous online radio stations has surpassed the number of terrestrial radio broadcasters in the United States.

Amateur radio entrepreneurs from all over the country have launched 17,000 stations on Live365.com, using the company’s proprietary technology to create and broadcast Internet radio stations from any personal computer with no fee.

“We believe that the broadcast tools we provide allow people to challenge and compete with traditional entertainment,” said Alex Sanford, President and CEO of Live365.com. “By significantly lowering the barriers for individuals to create their own content and share it with others, we have now created a community of empowered users that provide listeners with the nation’s widest array of musical and audio streams – on the Web or otherwise.”

“To put some perspective on this exciting development, we must consider that the first commercial radio broadcaster, Pittsburgh’s KDKA, launched in 1920,” added Peter Rothman, Chief Technical Officer of Live365.com. “It has taken the broadcasting industry eighty years to build its current infrastructure, one which we matched in just over a year.”
